This article is a synthesis of the Yoga Anatman session of October 7, 2026, a morning when breath, silence and love wove themselves together to open an inner door.
There are mornings when the body wakes up like a cathedral. Every muscle becomes a pillar, every breath a vault, and consciousness wanders through it, slowly, full of wonder. 🌅
That morning, many of us were there, in Saint-Exempt and from afar, joined by an invisible thread. A thread that only love knows how to weave. ✨
And from the very first moments, something announced itself. Something gentle, yet powerful too. Like a promise whispered into the ear of the heart. 💫
The Promise of the Flow
Have you ever disappeared into an action? Walked without there being a walker, laughed without there being anyone laughing, cried without there being anyone there to cry? 🦋
That is precisely the territory we explored this morning. A territory with no I, no me, no program. A territory where life flows through us, and where we become its current.
Alexandre Anatman invited us to dare this crossing. To leave the familiar shore of the identity-bound mind and let ourselves be carried by what he calls the flow. And in this flow, everything becomes sacred. 🕊️
The Morning’s Teaching
There is one word Alexandre spoke this morning the way one lays a precious stone on a silk cloth. That word is flow. 🌊
And during the elixir part, as we held our cups of chai in our hands, this teaching unfolded in all its fullness. He shared this with us:
“It is possible, as a human being, to train yourself to surrender to the level above, or the level within. To surrender to a flow.”
So what is the flow? It’s when we do conscious walking, and there is no longer anyone walking. Walking simply happens. It’s when we speak without there being a speaker. Speaking simply happens. It’s when we cook, when we shop at the market, and everything gets done in a kind of surrender to something vaster. ✨
In this flow, there are no more programs. No more intrusive thoughts. No more I, no more me. All the programs that usually interfere fall silent. And in their place arises a pure action, conscious and silent. 🕊️
Alexandre told us he had chopped wood the day before in this state. No need to talk. No need to be an I. The action created itself, stronger, more powerful, more intense. 💫
And he offered us this luminous comparison: this flow is what English speakers call momentum. It’s what top athletes experience when they surrender. It’s this flow that sets Olympic world records. It transcends the person and the identity. 🌟
And then this revelation, the beating heart of the teaching:
“The flow always brings the sacred.”
That is why our practice, which looks like yoga, is in fact so much more. It is a practice of surrender and liberation, but also of training to live the flow. To embody it. To let it take up all the space. 💖
And this afternoon, we will learn to dance in this state. To let movement arise from silence. Because in the flow, even chopping wood becomes a prayer. Even walking backwards becomes a sacred act. 🙏
Realizations During the Yoga Anatman
🎁 This 10-minute excerpt of the session’s realizations (in French) is offered to you by ANATMAN TV.
The session opens with the sound of a bell. A sound François taught us to listen to. And we welcome this sound as a threshold. From that instant on, we are no longer quite the same. ✨
The hands rise, the feet take root, the calves, the thighs, the glutes contract. We lift ourselves onto our tiptoes, suspended as if by an invisible thread from the crown of the head. This is the stretched mountain pose (Tadasana — rootedness and verticality), and already the body is vibrating. 🌱
Then comes the surrender. I breathe in, and I let go of everything. This sentence, repeated like a mantra, becomes the backbone of the practice. Letting go. Letting go again. Letting go until we disappear.
The hands clasp behind the back, thumbs hooked, and we lean backwards. Then forwards, blindfold over the eyes, the torso coming to touch the legs. The standing forward bend (Uttanasana — stretching the whole posterior chain) frees the neck, lengthens the hamstrings, soothes the mind. 🌿
Alexandre guides a massage of the neck, a massage of the cheeks, of the jaw. And he reminds us of a precious truth:
“Whenever you’re on public transport, your inner masseur is right there, available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.”
This inner masseur is consciousness itself. The one that knows where the tensions are, the one that knows how to dissolve them. And posture after posture, we learn to trust it. 💞
Then comes the moment of the OM. A grounded OM, deep and powerful, that makes the chest vibrate like a sounding board. The feet become roots, the body becomes a tree, and the sound rises and rises, all the way to the sky. 🙏
We draw circles with the chin. The hips follow, the lower back lengthens, the glutes unknot. And Alexandre murmurs: “consciousness feels everything”. Every sensation, refusing none. 🌟
Then comes the dance of the hands on the lower back, an energy healing. And as the warmth flows from our palms, we declare, all together:
“I declare my love to life. I love you.”
This mantra becomes a prayer. A prayer that embodies gratitude for surprises, for hugs, for improvisation, for everything that slips beyond control. 💖
We move on to the little frog (Malasana — deep hip opening). Three minutes, back nice and straight, hands in anjali mudra, breath of fire. The air comes in on its own, and we breathe out. Each at our own pace. And the fire rises, within. 🔥
After the elixir and the sound of the bowl, we explore the plank (Phalakasana — core strength and inner power). The pelvis keeps rising, pushed by a force that no longer belongs to us. Then the butterfly (Baddha Konasana — opening of the pelvis and the heart), feet together, knees rising and falling like wings.
And we lie down. The strap catches the right foot. The leg rises, slowly, the lower back pressed flat to the floor, the neck relaxed. The forearms pull, and the body begins to tremble. 🦋
Alexandre then invites us into something extraordinary:
“I join pleasure and stretching together. I surrender to tantric orgasms.”
It is no longer a posture. It is a celebration. Pain turns into pleasure, the stretch becomes ecstasy, the trembling becomes prayer. And the body, at last, knows it is loved. ✨
The same sequence with the left leg. Then lying fully stretched out. And there, after the out-breath, something remarkable happens: a natural breath suspension. Not a willed breath-hold, no. A stillness that comes of itself, the result of total surrender. The beginning, Alexandre tells us, of the states of samadhi. 🕊️
We wrap our arms around ourselves. We give ourselves a hug. And we whisper: “I love you, I’m in love with you”. And this loving vibration sends out a morphic song that resonates throughout the whole universe. 💫
The lower back trembles. The pelvis trembles. The thighs tremble. As if we were receiving an energy healing from within. The body reorganizes itself. 🌱
And we stand up again for the conscious walk. Ten minutes. Eyes closed, blindfold on. And then, a surprise: Alexandre tells us that this morning his body is walking backwards. Why? Because it finds more pleasure in it. And that, he says, is when he realizes that the body is constantly seeking pleasure. 🌟
The session closes with integration. Opening the eyes, but staying with the sensations. Keeping the presence even when the video game’s graphics card switches on. Staying in the feet, in the hands, in the heart. 💖
The Postures of the Session
🧘 Stretched Mountain — Stretched Tadasana
The posture: Standing, feet parallel and well grounded, calves and thighs engaged, glutes active, abs held. The hands rise to the sky, thumbs hooked, and the body lifts onto the tiptoes, suspended as if by a thread from the crown of the head. Breathe in deeply as you rise.
Benefits for the body: Strengthens the calves, thighs and abdominal wall. Lengthens the spine. Improves balance and overall posture.
🧘 Standing Forward Bend — Uttanasana
The posture: From standing, the hands rise and then slowly come down towards the floor. The torso comes to touch the legs; the knees may bend slightly. The head drops, relaxed. The hands touch the floor, then press down to straighten the legs again.
Benefits for the body: Stretches the hamstrings, calves and lower back. Decompresses the spine. Encourages blood flow to the head.
🧘 Side Bends — Parsva Tadasana
The posture: Standing, the hands rise, one elbow bends, and the torso leans towards the opposite side. Alternate right and left, feeling the stretch in the lower back and the top of the buttock.
Benefits for the body: Stretches the intercostal muscles, the obliques and the quadratus lumborum. Mobilizes the hips and opens the rib cage.
🧘 Head and Neck Circles — Griva Chalana
The posture: Starting on the left side, the chin draws large, slow circles that take in the back of the head. The body follows the movement, the hips joining in. Gradually change direction.
Benefits for the body: Releases tension in the cervical spine, loosens the neck, unknots the trapezius muscles and stimulates circulation to the brain.
🧘 Pelvic Circles — Kati Chakrasana
The posture: Standing, feet pressed into the floor, knees slightly bent, hands on the hips. The pelvis draws ever larger circles. Alternate between both directions.
Benefits for the body: Mobilizes the hips, loosens the lumbar spine, strengthens the deep pelvic muscles and improves digestion.
🧘 Little Frog — Malasana
The posture: Squatting, feet apart, back nice and straight, gaze forward, palms joined in anjali mudra in front of the chest. Three minutes of breath of fire: quick exhalations through the nose, the air coming in on its own.
Benefits for the body: Deeply opens the hips, stretches the ankles and calves, strengthens the pelvic floor and stimulates digestion.
🧘 Plank — Phalakasana
The posture: Hands and forearms on the floor, body aligned from the crown of the head to the heels, pelvis rising continuously, pushed by an inner force. The neck stays relaxed.
Benefits for the body: Strengthens the deep abdominals, shoulders, arms and the stabilizing muscles of the back. Builds endurance and concentration.
🧘 Butterfly — Baddha Konasana
The posture: Seated, soles of the feet together, back nice and straight, head upright. The knees rise and fall very gently, like wings.
Benefits for the body: Opens the hips, stretches the adductors, loosens the knees and stimulates circulation in the lower pelvis.
🧘 Reclining Leg Stretch with Strap — Supta Padangusthasana
The posture: Lying on the back, lower back pressed to the floor. A strap catches the foot, and the leg rises slowly until perpendicular to the floor, while the other leg stays extended, heel pressing down. The forearms pull, the neck stays free.
Benefits for the body: Intensely stretches the hamstrings, calves and lower back. Decompresses the hip. Releases nervous tension along the sciatic nerve.
🧘 Self-Hug — Anatman movement
The posture: Lying on the back, knees drawn up, lower back pressed to the floor. The arms wrap around the torso as if in an embrace. Repeat “I love you” to your own body.
Benefits for the body: Opens the shoulder blades, relaxes the rib cage, soothes the parasympathetic nervous system and releases emotions stored in the chest.
🧘 Conscious Walking — Anatman movement
The posture: Standing, eyes closed or blindfolded, suspended from the top of the head, feet fully felt. The body walks by itself, sometimes backwards, surrendered to the flow. Ten minutes.
Benefits for the body: Develops proprioception, strengthens the ankles and stabilizing muscles, calms the mind and integrates the meditative state into movement.
The flow always brings the sacred.
I declare my love to life. I love you.
In this flow, there is no more I, no more me.
