Yoga Anatman: Revealing the Artist Within

Yoga Anatman: Revealing the Artist Within

This article is a synthesis of the Yoga Anatman session of October 10, 2026, a morning bathed in autumn light when something rare came to light: the joy of creating, the beauty of existing without a mask, and the gentle certainty that each and every one of us is an artist.

There are mornings when the air feels different. ✨ Finer, more translucent. As if the universe itself were holding its breath to listen to what was about to be born. This October Saturday was one of those mornings.

Even before the first mantra, there was a special vibration in the room. The vibration of a group no longer content just to practice: it embodies. The vibration of a tribe that has stopped seeking and started to simply be. 🌿

And then the voice settled in. Deep, resonant, rooted in the feet. “I breathe in and I let it all go.” A handful of words, and already the veil begins to lift. Already something in us agrees to disappear. 🦋

When the Sleeping Artist Awakens

Have you ever wondered why, deep inside you, something always longs to create? Why a poem welling up, a scribbled drawing, a melody hummed in the shower moves you more than any learned speech?

This morning, Alexandre asked a question that flew across the screens like a gentle arrow: “If the artist you are does not express itself, do you truly exist?” 💫

There was a silence. A real one. The kind that opens a door. And behind that door, a simple truth was patiently waiting: to express yourself is to exist. To create is to reveal yourself. And the joy of creating may well be the most beautiful gift the soul gives the body.

The Morning’s Teaching

This morning’s theme arose like a long-awaited truth: revealing the artist within. 🎨 And through it, an even vaster realization: to express yourself is to exist.

Alexandre put it with grave tenderness: “If the artist I am does not express itself, then I do not truly exist.” There is a tremor in that sentence. The tremor of a truth you recognize without knowing where it comes from.

The morning elixir, taken in silence around steaming chai, brought the first pearl: intention lives in the heart, never in the head. 💞 Mantras recited with the mind alone are empty. They bounce off the walls of thought. But when the heart expresses itself, when something in the chest weeps even as it speaks, then creation happens.

Then came the powerful image of the cosmic video game. 🎮 Our soul came to Earth to play, to feel emotionally and physically, to understand the law of cause and effect. The body is the controller. The sacred word, movement and actions are the buttons. And outer reality? The screen that displays the result of what we press.

If we spend our lives running away from bodily sensations and emotions, we are not really playing. We are watching the screen without touching the controller. And situations keep repeating until they are truly lived. 🌿

Then came the central revelation of the elixir: the halo effect. Neuroscience has shown it: when we meet someone we don’t know, the brain automatically fills in the blanks. It invents. It projects. And the more you love something about the other person, the more it fills in the rest with positive information — but invented information.

“Others can only perceive what you express of yourself.”

Dizzying. The one you love knows you only through what you let them see. Your inner beauty, if it is never sung, drawn, danced, written or spoken, remains invisible. ✨

Hence the mantra that ran through the session: “I allow myself to write poems. I allow myself to paint, to dance, to show my body. I allow myself every art.” Each I allow myself is a door opening in the invisible prison of learned modesty.

And the great liberation: art is not made to please. 🌟 It is not made to be successful, to sell, to be understood. Art exists only so that you can feel within yourself the joy of creating. That intoxication when you listen for the twentieth time to the music you have just composed, falling in love with your own work.

A magnificent paradox: the artists who couldn’t care less about pleasing are often the ones who touch the most people. Because they are completely themselves. And authenticity is the only thing that truly resonates in people’s hearts. 💖

The teaching closed with an invitation: to create an artistic space within. For the Anatman tribe, for each person, for the group. A space where we dare. A space where we embody. A space where the sleeping artist finally rises and says: here I am. 🦋

Realizations during Yoga Anatman

🎁 This 10-minute excerpt (in French) of the session’s realizations is offered to you by ANATMAN TV.

It all begins with the feet. Always. 🌱 The deep, resonant sound descends into the arches, settles into the legs, slowly rises again. “I breathe in and I let it all go.” And already, something gives way. An invisible dam, an old tension, a piece of armor that falls away without a sound.

The hands massage the jaw, the cheeks. Such a simple gesture, so tender toward oneself. How many of us go years without ever touching our own face with love? This morning, tenderness begins right there: in the fingertips recognizing the skin. 💞

Then the arms rise. Slowly. Millimeter by millimeter. Calves, thighs, abs and glutes contract. We rise onto the tips of our toes. Suspended by an invisible thread above the head. And there, a quiet miracle: the lower back lengthens, the shoulder blades spread apart, the whole body becomes a living arrow stretched toward the sky. 🌟

“The more I surrender, the more I disappear, the more it welcomes.”

This phrase, whispered as tears rose in some of us, became the common thread of the session. Disappearing in order to welcome. Shrinking the self to let life flow through. The welcoming consciousness is what we are when we stop clinging. ✨

Next comes the work on the sides. Right arm up, stretching to the left, the right foot lifts, the right hand massages the back of the skull. “The skull isn’t fragile.” No violence, but real pressure for a real effect. Then the other side. And already the spine breathes differently, as if freed from years of silent tension.

Then the backward stretch, right foot lifted, circles drawn with the chin. The whole body follows. The whole body listens. And that is when Alexandre slips in a sentence that changes everything:

“This isn’t just yoga, it’s a paradigm shift, a new way of living.”

Listening to your body all day long. Not just on the mat. 🌿 All day long. New pleasures, new sensations, more feeling, more reality, more life, less head and less mind. Changing direction. Moving from the mind to the body the way you would move to another world.

Then the great mantra arrives, arms outstretched, spine arching slightly back: “I offer myself to life, I offer myself. I am the gift. I love you.” And then, the tears. Many tears. Not tears of sadness. Tears of gratitude. Life loves us back, and at last we feel it. 🕊️

“I love myself, I align with my best scenario, I choose everything in my life, every detail, consciously.” The hands behind the lower back send a warm energy healing. We choose. We no longer endure. We become the author.

Then the right angle, the forward bend with hands on the floor, the knees gradually straightening. “There’s nothing to succeed at. A little bit every day, and at some point it will happen.” The gentleness of these words disarms all inner competition. 💖

Hands on the hips, the pelvic circles begin. To the left, forward, to the right, back. We break it down. We feel the right buttock stretching, the obliques working, the lower back strengthening in joy. “What a body of a goddess and a god. Gratitude.” 🌟

Then comes the frog. Three minutes squatting, breath of fire, back straight, gaze straight ahead. Air rushing in and out through the nose. The belly pulsing. The inner fire rekindling. Everyone adapts: seated, lying on the belly, or a few push-ups. 🔥

Then the elixir arrives. A cup of chai, green tea, something warm between the hands. The sacred settles in. And with it, the mantras that will change everything.

“Intention is not a thought in the head. It is in the heart, in the chest, in the heart chakra.”

A central revelation: mantras recited with the head alone don’t work. It is the heart expressing itself, not the mind repeating. Intention lives in the chest. It weeps, it vibrates, it knows. 💫

“I release in love everything that keeps me from putting my creation into words.” “Gratitude for recognizing my sacred word.” “Gratitude for recognizing my authority.” Each mantra becomes an act of courage. Each sentence, a step toward oneself.

Then the great image: life as a video game, and the body as the controller. The sacred word, movement and actions are the buttons. And outer reality, the screen. The soul plays at feeling, at understanding the law of cause and effect. Simple. Dizzying. 🎮

And another pearl: “I am learning to learn.” The mantra school forgot to teach us. The most serious mistake in all of education, says Alexandre. We were taught to obey. Never to learn on our own. Never to draw from within. Gratitude for creating an autonomous learning system. 🌱

The realizations keep coming, strung tight like pearls. Live with those who love you, not with those who have something to gain. Sort things out gently, naturally. Dare the initiation of discernment in love. Recognize that the heart loves for no reason, and that this is precisely where everything is at stake. 💞

“The more I am who I am from the heart, the more people will leave. And that’s perfect just as it is.”

Then comes the heart of the elixir: I reveal the artist within me. The halo effect explained with perfect clarity: when we don’t know someone, the brain fills in the blanks with invented information. The more you express yourself, the more the halo effect fades, and the more others see you for real. 🦋

“Others can only perceive what you express of yourself.” Others cannot see your beauty if it is never expressed. Through a song, a poem, a drawing, a dance. Anything, absolutely anything.

And the ultimate liberation: art is not made to please. Art is not made to be successful. Art is made so that you can feel within yourself the joy of creating. Period. 🌅

The session ends with conscious walking, eyes first closed under a blindfold, then open. The body walks on its own. The mind lets go of the controller. And something happens: the body prefers to walk backward, finds pleasure in stretching, wants to touch an object, wants a hug. The body has different interests from the mind, and it invites us to follow it. 🙏

The Postures of the Session

🧘 The Suspended Rise — Urdhva Hastasana
The posture: standing, feet anchored in the ground, slowly raise the arms and hands above the head, contract the calves, thighs, abs and glutes, then rise onto the tips of the toes as if suspended by an invisible thread. The breath is full, deep, through the nose.
Benefits for the body: stretches the spine and shoulder blades, strengthens the calves and arches of the feet, improves balance and overall posture.

🧘 Backbend with Hooked Thumbs — Ardha Chakrasana
The posture: standing, thumbs hooked behind the back, gently lean back, pelvis forward, chest open, head following the spine. The breath stays nasal and fluid.
Benefits for the body: opens the rib cage, stretches the psoas and belly, mobilizes the lower back and stimulates breathing.

🧘 Standing Forward Bend — Uttanasana
The posture: from standing, descend millimeter by millimeter toward the floor, the hands come to touch the earth, the knees may bend at first, then the legs gradually lengthen and the head draws closer to the knees. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth.
Benefits for the body: deeply stretches the backs of the thighs and calves, decompresses the spine, soothes the nervous system.

🧘 The Right Angle — Ardha Uttanasana
The posture: torso horizontal, hands on the knees, back long and straight, neck in line with the spine. Surrender completely to the sensations.
Benefits for the body: strengthens the back muscles, stretches the hamstrings, aligns the spine and prepares for deeper forward bends.

🧘 Standing Side Stretch — Parsva Urdhva Hastasana
The posture: right arm up, lean to the left, the right heel lifts, the right hand massages the back of the neck and skull with firm but gentle pressure. Same movement on the other side.
Benefits for the body: stretches the sides, obliques and shoulder blades, releases neck tension and stimulates circulation in the scalp.

🧘 Chin and Neck Circles — Anatman movement
The posture: standing, beginning with a stretch back and to the left, then slowly draw circles with the chin, the neck guiding the whole body. Full breathing, no holding the breath.
Benefits for the body: releases neck tension, makes the nape supple, relaxes the jaw and loosens the upper back.

🧘 Outstretched Arms Backbend — Anatman surrender movement
The posture: standing, arms outstretched and slightly back, spine arching backward, head following, chest open to the sky. A posture of total offering.
Benefits for the body: fully opens the rib cage, stretches the chest muscles and shoulders, stimulates the heart chakra and deep breathing.

🧘 Pelvic Circles — Anatman movement
The posture: hands on the hips, draw slow circles with the pelvis: to the left, forward, to the right, back. First break it down, then let it flow.
Benefits for the body: strengthens the obliques and deep abdominals, mobilizes the lower back, loosens the hips and stimulates digestion.

🧘 The Frog with Breath of Fire — Malasana + Kapalabhati
The posture: squatting, feet flat or heels lifted, back and head straight, gaze forward. Practice the breath of fire: short, powerful exhalations through the nose, letting the air come back in naturally. Three minutes.
Benefits for the body: deeply opens the hips, strengthens the thighs and calves, stimulates the digestive fire and oxygenates the brain.

🧘 Conscious Walking — Anatman movement
The posture: standing, eyes first closed under a blindfold, then open. The body walks freely, forward, backward, while the mind lets go of the steering. Feel the feet, the emotions, the body’s desires.
Benefits for the body: retrains proprioception, massages the arches of the feet, calms the mind and reconnects with overall bodily awareness.

The more I surrender, the more I disappear, the more it welcomes.

If the artist I am does not express itself, then I do not truly exist.

Others can only perceive what you express of yourself.
